ABOUT US
Codygut is a journal for General & News. Honest guides for the curious reader, written by working journalists, not salesmen.
Who we are
We are a small crew of reporters, editors and researchers who got tired of press releases pretending to be news. Codygut started in 2021 as a shared notebook of stories that never got the context they deserved. Today it reaches thousands of monthly readers who want the facts, the trade-offs and the next step in one place.
We are not a media giant, and we do not want to be. A small team means every guide is written by someone who did the reporting, and every correction reaches a human who can fix it the same day. That is the whole advantage of staying small.
Our mission
We help readers understand a changing world without the noise. Every week we publish free news and practical guides on World News, Politics, Technology, Economy, and Lifestyle: real 2026 figures, dated sources, clear verdicts and steps you can act on.
That means fewer hot takes and more receipts. When we say a price rose by a certain amount, we show the basket. When we say a policy changed, we link the document. The guides are free because readers trust them, not because an advertiser paid for them.
Editorial standards
No sponsored picks, no pay-to-rank lists. We use primary sources, disclose relationships, and correct mistakes in public within 48 hours. Numbers come from official statistics, peer-reviewed research and our own tracked prices — never from press releases alone. If a claim fails verification, we say so.
We do not accept payment for coverage. If a company sends unsolicited material, we either return it or mention it in the article. Any affiliate link is labelled, and it never decides whether a product or a story appears, or how it is ranked.
The team
Codygut (Editor, 10 years in newsrooms), Mira Chen (World News & Politics), and Daniel Okafor (Technology & Economy). Supported by contributing researchers who check every guide before it ships.
Between us we have covered elections, tracked prices across cities and read more budget documents than anyone should. That experience is the only credential that matters here.
